MCE Racing is
proud to offer state-of-the-art cylinder porting services. Once considered more of a black art than engineering, MCE has spent years
developing a custom flow bench that eliminates all guesswork in the process of
porting cylinders and quantifies the science and engineering of the process. Minute changes in port volume and shape can dramatically affect the quality of the final porting. For this reason, each and every port of every cylinder must be flowed during the process of reshaping it. This level of unique, detailed service, once available only to the largest and most well-funded teams, distinguishes MCE from all other Grand Prix shops. Cylinder porting is a very exacting process, and it must be done very carefully. Every cylinder is slightly different, and the only way to practically monitor the progress of the job is to use a flowbench. MCE is very proud of the results obtained from this custom and exclusive piece of equipment. Results are guaranteed and both dyno plots and flow rate data are available. RS125 and RS250 racers can choose between two levels of porting. The first level of porting does not require special pistons and benefits mid-range. The second level of porting continues the horsepower increases up through the top-end but requires the use of A-kit style pistons with the low friction flat ring. TZ125 racers of early 90s vintage can benefit tremendously from this service. Later models of the TZ125 will still see substantial and cost effective improvements. |
